African Bakongo Nail Fetish 33

Item # BKO091726OD
$780

This African Nail Fetish, or "nkisi nkondi," from the Bakongo people of the Congo measures 27 inches tall and 11 inches wide. It is hand-carved of wood. Nails driven into the piece represent its aggressive power against witches and evil spirits. Stones, animal claws, grave dirt and other "medicines" are placed inside the mirrored cavity on its abdomen to combat evil; the mirror is meant to reflect harm back on enemies of the villagers. - FREE US SHIPPING
